Soccer EAP

Emergency Action Plan & Inclement Weather Policy

OVERVIEW
GCKA understands that soccer is a growth vehicle for young athletes, and we take safety very seriously. All GCKA participants, including players, coaches, administrative staff, parents, and other spectators, should be aware of and adhere to this policy. Return to play scenarios may vary depending on the situation.

AED Locations: There are two AEDs located at Murfin Field. One is at the Concession stand at the GCKA main office building, and the other is on the back of the maintenance barn.

Medical Needs: Parents should inform the coach [privately] if their player has been diagnosed with a medical condition (asthma, allergies, diabetes, etc.). Coaches shall not administer any medication to players.

Concussion: A player who sustains a head or neck injury shall be removed from play and evaluated. If diagnosed with a concussion, only a licensed medical professional can clear the player to return to play via a written release.

Lightning: Activities suspended for 30 minutes if lightning is spotted. Each strike restarts the 30-minute clock. Seek shelter immediately. Coaches will communicate via appropriate channels.

Winter Weather (Snow Emergencies):
• Level 1: Facilities remain open; play suspended at official's discretion.
• Level 2 & 3: All facilities close immediately. Participants must vacate the premise.

Cold/Heat/Air Quality: We follow U.S. Soccer Foundation Guidelines and AIRNOW.gov for AQI. Hydration breaks or cancellations may occur for safety.
