Dear Knights Families!

We are so incredibly grateful to have you as a part of our Knights family.  As some of you may already know, GCKA is a non-profit and we serve well over 1,000 athletes each season in sports including soccer, football, baseball, lacrosse, and cheer.  It is an honor for us to be a part of this incredible organization.

What you may not know is that our cheer program has almost tripled in the last several years, and we could not be more excited.  As we work through our season and you have the opportunity to get to know each of our board members and coaches, you will be getting to know a group of people who donate their time to ensure that your athletes learn more than just cheer. This program is a GCKA staple and exists to support teaching our athletes about their bodies and how to take care of them, about sportsmanship, about overcoming challenging barriers, about friendships, and about teamwork, among many other things. Each of our program board members and coaches have agreed to ensuring that each athlete walks away with these values and more.

We couldn't do anything we do without parent participation and support. If you are someone who wants to be involved beyond supporting your cheerleader, we would love to "put you to work", so please let us know who you are. There are many opportunities to support the program, and we would love to have you!

Lastly, we recognize that there are other cheer programs in the area, and you could have chosen any one of them. We are honored and grateful that you trusted us with the safety and development of your athlete. This is not something we take lightly, and we are genuinely committed to making this season our best season yet!

As always, go Knights!

Respectfully,

Courtney Kirby

GCKA Cheer Commissioner
