Registration:

• Registration for Spring: December 1st to January 15th
• Registration for Fall: May 15th to July 1st
• Late Registration is only available if space allows and is not guaranteed.
• Practice day/time requests can be requested if made during the registration process but are not guaranteed. Requests made after teams are made/balanced and uniforms are ordered can't be considered.
• All registration must be completed and paid for online. There is a small service fee that is added to paying online. In the event that a refund is asked for, the refund will be returned to the card used for payment minus the service fee (We cannot control the service fee). We do offer a handful of hardship discounts based on our seasonal budget.
• By registering your child, you agree to the following refund guideline.
  • Drop prior to registration closing = 100% of registration fee
  • Drop within 7 days after registration closes- 50% of registration fee
  • Drop later than 7 days after registration closes- No Refund
• **credit card processing fees are non-refundable under any circumstance**

• Pre-School:   $90
• Kindergarten: $140
• 1st Grade: $140
• 2nd Grade: $140
• 3rd-4th Grade: $160
• 5th-6th Grade: $160(Rec)
• MSSA- 6th-8th Grade: $215(Competitive)

 

Practice and Games:

• Spring: Practices start last week of March
• Spring: Games start the 1st week of April
• Fall: Practices start 3rd week of August
• Fall: Games start the last weekend of August
• Practices typically are at 5:30pm or 6:30pm
• Pre-School: 1 practice/scrimmage per week
• Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd-4th Grade and 5th-6th Grade: 2 practices per week and games on Saturdays and occasionally weekday evenings
• K- 5/6 will typically have 6-7 games depending on weather

 

Coaches:

• Head coaches are always needed for Rec Soccer and we could not run this program without them. We are currently pleased to offer a 50 percent discount per child that you are a head coach for. If you would like to Volunteer to coach and receive the 50% discount please e-mail Nick Amicucci for a discount code prior to registering. You will need to register as a coach AND register your child.

Picture Day:

• Picture Day is usually the first weekend of games

Ball Sizes:

• Pre-K to 2nd Grade:  Size 3
• 3rd Grade to 6th Grade:  Size 4
• MSSA:  Size 5

Uniforms:

• Uniforms are ordered each season. Please ensure you request the proper size for your child. Requests for a different size after the registration process is not assured. Children will be provided with socks, shorts and a jersey. In the event the uniform vendor is out of stock in the size/color requested, a size larger will be sent by the uniform vendor. When in doubt, order a size larger and please verify you are ordering YOUTH vs ADULT sizes.

 

MSSA Information:

GCKA offers Rec players(6th-8th grade) the option to play on a team that plays in the Middle School Soccer Association (MSSA). 

MSSA is a competitive recreational league that represents most suburbs in Central Ohio. Teams will have some travel to surrounding central Ohio communities for away games. Home games are played at Murfin Field. MSSA teams play one or two games per week, one on a weeknight and one on Saturdays. Practices are typically held throughout the week.

6th graders should register for MSSA only if they are ready for a higher level of competition from opposing teams.

Spring season runs from early March to late May.

Fall season runs from mid-July to mid-October.

Each season will have an end of season tournament in which 3-4 games will take place.

If there are enough girls to field a girls only team, that will happen. If not, girls will be placed on a co-ed team.
